IBM Watson to Tackle Cybercrime
Cognitive Computing will be able to play two crucial roles in this space, where it’s estimated that by 2020 there will be 1.5 million unfilled cyber security jobs, and where thousands of research papers are published each year. First, it will play the familiar “expert advisor” role to help less experienced or less capable people perform better at their job. Second, it will be able to stand in for some of the 1.5 million missing people because of the job shortage. In this second role Watson will probably be used to provide cognitive expertise as input to robotic process automation of companies’ security processes.
